13year old Schnauzer is acting odd.

My 13 year old Schnauzer has starting getting up in the middle of the night scratching on the carpet or crawls under the bed,(she has never gone under the bed before) and whining, I get up and let her outside. She comes in lays down for about 15 to 30 min, then starts all over again.
She really sounds like she is crying! What is wrong?

In a way it's great news that it's Arthritis.. at 13 it's to be expected.. you must keep your baby warm, a coat on when going walks and a lovely warm blanket and fleece to snuggle in.. my boys have at least five coats each .. jumpers and waterproofs.. they have ones each called 3Peaks, as this keeps the rain from seeping through to their fur and skin. It's what Climbers use when they are mountaineering.. By the way, there are treatments.. my friend's Collie was on Rhus-tox as she had arthritis too.. Don't know what you call that in your country.. but I'm sure your vet will.. please keep us posted as to how things are going.. but really pleased things are going Ok at the moment..

Thank you for your response. Zoie is doing good right now. She was in pain with arthritis.

Linda is right .. Get your schnauzer to your vet immediately.. at 13 a Stroke is possible or that the behaviour means there is Pain somewhere.. Kidneys... are the main source .. especially Kidney Stones.. and a word of advice, as my vet told me … if you give your schnauzer vegetables Broccoli especially.. this can cause Kidney Stones or Crystals..
TAKE YOUR SCHNAUZER to your VET fast.. as Pain might be the cause of the odd behaviour ..

Schnauzers can develop strange behavioural problems - hiding and crying, carrying toys and whining, shaking and hiding.
I would get her checked out by a vet to make sure she hasn't had a mild stroke.
