17 month old Black female standard Schnauzer needs a forever home

After much thought and many, many tears we have decided that a new forever home is need for our Black Standard female schnauzer.

She is a lively, intelligent and affectionate girl. She is also demanding, attention seeking and territorial but her good points definitely outweigh the bad. She has been socialised well and loves walks in the country and meeting other dogs. She will need more training as being so intelligent she always tries to 'push the boundaries'! Just like any teenager...

However, she is a beautiful dog and we will be devastated to give her up but she deserves more time devoted to her.

She will need a family home and does not like to be left for too long. At the moment we can leave her for around 4 hours but she doesn't like to be left for any longer.

I will be vetting any enquiries and will ask you to visit her first before any decision is made.

Thank you for your time- enquiries to Michelle at m.tarten@sky.com

NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX:
She's beautiful, it was obviously a hard decision. Good Luck in finding the right home for her

New home found
by: Michelle

Hi Sharon and Steve,

My lovely standard has found a new home now. She is with her brother Colin in Wales and has settled in wonderfully, with her new family. Thank you for your message and I hope that you too find a companion for your dog.

Many thanks

We are interested in your girl
by: Steve and sharon

Hi There, Are you still looking to re-home your lovely standard schnauzer ?.

We would be very interested, as we have a standard salt and pepper male schnauzer. We adore the breed, and are looking for a companion for our boy. He is nearly 2 and has been neutered.

We live in the countryside and my husband works from home, and goes for long walks twice daily.
Please let us know as soon as possible.
Many thanks.
You can contact us on chezwinn@hotmail.com.

FANTASTIC NEWS...
by: Michele

That's Fantastic news for your girl, and it would be wonderful to keep in touch especially when her new owners send you photos of them on the beach together.. How ironic that both Standards are from the same breeder.. Are they the same age.. maybe they are brother and sister... What luck for you all... I shall email you with photos of my minis .. and maybe you will reply .... also if you are down this way Bournemouth we could meet up and you can come to my home and meet my boys.. that's if your health allows..Love Michele x

New home found!
by: Anonymous

Hi Michele and all

Had to share the fantastic news that my lady has hopefully found a new home. I have been contacted by a family who already have a male schnauzer who needs a sole mate! The ironic thing is that they are from Wales but bought him from the same breeder! The pics of their dog are identical to mine and they already know of how to handle a standard. They are by the sea in Wales and have sent me upteen photos of their beauty on the beach, along with their family and home. I've spoken to the family and they are driving down next weekend so the dogs can meet. I will let you know how it all goes. :)

Your Girl ..
by: Michele

I'm sure she will under the circumstances as Schnauzers are quite demanding but love their walks and a Standards are stronger than Minis.. As for your Op.. if it's what my late Hubby had , it's Laminectomy and don't worry all will be well. Maybe the New Owners of your lovely girl will keep in touch and send you photos .. as you obviously will always adore her.. that way it won't have been so devastating having had to find her a new Forever Home.. Lots of Luck..xx

Thankyou for your support
by: Michelle

Hi both,

Thank you so much for your kind support - it really has helped me over the past week to come to terms with the fact that I am really doing the right thing. I have been diagnosed with a spinal condition which may result in an operation so in reality, my girl will be better off all round with someone who can walk her daily. I can provide lots of love but that's not enough when you have a bouncy teenager who needs long walks.

Thank you again

My Breeder
by: Michele

Yes Sue.. Linda is a wonderful and very caring Lady.. the Minis I've bought from her, Four in all, have been wonderful, and never any problems, health-wise.. If you go to Rainbow Bridge you can read my Story of my two previous ones.. REBEL 1 ( pepper & salt boy ) and RINGO ( he was a black boy )..

I'm happy you are having advice
by: Michele

Hi there.. I am happy that you are taking advice from your local breeder.. her name doesn't happen to be Linda Forsyth as she lives local to you, and breeds wonderful minis.. mine have all been from her.. Benji, my pepper & salt, is my fourth and his pal is Rebel is black & silver.. keep in touch and let us know how she'll settle into her New Forever Home, and well done for wanting to vet her new owners.. a very sensible move indeed..

thankyou
by: Anonymous

Thank you for your advice Michele. It's not a decision that has come easily, we are now getting advice and rehoming help from a lady breeder locally who will help in rehoming our lady to a new family with experience of Schnauzers.

I will post when a lovely new home has been found

Why part with her
by: Michele

A very very sad decision to have to find her a New Forever Home.. why not get her another schnauzer friend instead then she will not be lonely.. I have two minis and do leave them for 4 hours but not every day.. sometimes it can be 5 hours .. As long as they have had a walk they are fine.. 17 months is an age where your beautiful girl could get upset at being separated from you as she will have bonded with you all.. Think VERY carefully before you let her go... as there are options.. If you cannot be with her for the hours that she doesn't like being left.. How about a dog sitter.. or a friend that knows her and loves her.. nearly as much as you do.. Maybe there are Doggy Day Centres in your area, where you can take her to play with other doggies.. .
