2 yr old Mini Schnauzer lose balance when walking

I live in Alabama and walk my schnauzer (Pepper) three times a day. It very hot here now and I noticed when pepper and I walk in the afternoon he stumbles and slows down,almost like he is losing his balance. Is it because it's too hot or is there a medical concern. He is healthy and has had all his shots. Please Help!

You don't say how old Pepper is.
He may be suffering from heat stroke, schnauzers don't shed and so get very hot in summer. You might be better walking him in the evening.
Try this and if it stops, then it was definitely the heat.
Have you had his ears checked - do they smell? Has he got an ear infection? That could also cause a loss of balance.
