Colt: Our little miracle!!

We rescued Colt from our local animal shelter. He was 12 weeks old and weighed only 2.5 lbs. About 6 weeks after we got him, he got sick. After a misdiagnosis from the emergency on call veterinarian, I took him to another vet for a second opinion.
After a few tests, it was confirmed that he had a liver shunt and without surgery, would only live about 2 years..... And that is still with him eating special food and medically managing his symptoms.
So after A LOT of research and decision making, we decided to go to the University of Tennessee (7 hrs from our home)for him to have a liver surgery to correct the shunting. To make a long story short, he's our $4k shelter dog who we can't imagine not being in our lives!! He'll be 2 in April and is doing great!!
He looks EXACTLY like your Max and I must say is the cutest dog in the world!!
