Is my miniature schnauzer on heat?

Hello, I have a female miniature schnauzer who is about 10 1/2 months old. She had her first heat at the end of December and now she has clear discharge and my male dog is showing interest snifffing and licking...is she starting in heat again just 2 months after her first heat? Is this normal?

She shouldn't be coming on to heat 2 months later, Having said that, young females can be very irregular in the beginning. Normally, they only have 2 heat cycles per year. Keep an eye on her - and your male dog!
Some owners decide to have their females spayed after the first heat.
