Is my puppy a white mini schnauzer?

Hi, I have recently got a puppy from a breeder and was told that he is a white mini schnauzer. I have noticed that he is growing bigger and especially the legs are getting longer. He is now 18 weeks old.

I have attached before and after grooming pictures. Please help to advise.

NOTE FROM LINDA AND MAX:
It's hard to say if he is 100% Schnauzer, although he looks like one - but where is the trademark Schnauzer beard?!
As far as his legs being long, Max also has long legs, similar to yours, but they do not look so spindly as a traditional Schnauzer trim leaves the fur on the legs longer.
If you allowed his hair to grow and then got a Schnauzer trim at the groomers, your dog would look more like a schnauzer.
I've just noticed that you said he is 18 weeks old - he does seem pretty big for 18 weeks. Anyhow, he looks like a nice dog , whether he is a 100% purebred or not.

does look like a schnauzer but please dont buy a dog from a breeder while thousands of dogs are being killed every day because they cant find homes. go on www.petfinder.com and dont breed while shelter dogs die!!!!!

Ruined coat

Hi David .. Just seen your pics & the first two
are Schnauzer ones the other two make me very
sad. Your Groomer wants reprimanding
Do buy a coat and take a look at my photos of
BENJI after I have shampooed and trimmed
him. I strip his coat as that keeps it waterproof
Schnauzers have a double coat, but sadly
yours will never have one as it has been ruined
by your Groomer but just keep your
Puppy warm and he'll be fine.

Singapore White Schnauzer

We have a Singapore bred white Schnauzer nine months old. When he was in a Schnauzer cut he looked exactly right. With the current monsoon rain his coat got matted running around the garden, could not be brushed out. We had to have him trimmed right down and guess what his legs look very long right now! He is certainly taller than our last two mini Schnauzers but he is all Schnauzer character. Don't worry looking at the photo you have a real Schnauzer, just grow his coat out but groom him each day.

Thanks Michele for your comments. I did not know that shaving him down will ruined his coat....the groomer should at least advise me on this. So how can I remedy this situation?

Schnauzer ? Before and After groom !

The before and after groom.. he looks more like a Jack Russell cross Whippet.. I'm sorry to say but if you wanted a Schnauzer with a Schnauzer trim, why on earth did your groomer SHAVE him ? now it is possible his coat will be ruined, when it grows again, which will take ages.. I hope you have a warm coat for him, otherwise he will be very cold.. But as you love him to bits does it really matter if he's not a schnauzer..
