My 14 old schanuzer just started not wanting to go down steps out back to pee. I have to pick him up and take him back and fourth. He is half blind and deaf. Usually has a good appetite, but has not wanted much since yesterday. He just started doing this. What could it be? Love my little man.

Sounds like he could be in pain, poor chap. Maybe arthritis if he doesn't want to go down steps and is off his food.
Either take him to a vet or get a good arthritis supplement for his feeds ASAP as a first try. If this doesn't work, it may be something else.
