Loving home offered in Dorset, June 21

I live in Christchurch, Dorset & have a 5&1/2 year mini schnauzer boy (kc reg). I have been looking for a rescue mini for a few months with no luck as yet. I feel that my family could give a rescue pup/dog a lovely family home. We have 1 old cat and 1 hen. I work part time in a local school kitchen & get all school holidays. My husband works locally & comes home in between my hours so our dog is never left alone for long. We considered getting another from a breeder but our breeder is no longer breeding and I am very wary of online dog sales as well as the exorbitant prices they are charging. I wonder if you can help.
