mini schnauzer hair loss

My miniature schnauzer is having issues with hair thinning, especially around his bony areas, is there any thing I can do to prevent this?

Firstly .. I would take your Schnauzer to your vet.. does your dog live outside.. if so this is maybe why the Hair Loss.. if the enclosure is of a hard surface, the hair loss on the bony parts may be due to lying on the hard surface, and rubbing... but if this is not the case then I suggest you take your dog to the vet..
