Miniature Schnauzer Feeding

by Maria

We just got a little miniature schnauzer and she's a girl. The breeder was feeding her Iams, but we have Blue Buffalo for small breed and were going to switch her to that.
Is it okay to just switch her? The back of the bag isn't very informative, so how much should I be feeding her?
I was also wondering if I should feed her two or three times a day.

The little dog in the movie Wizard of Oz was a Cairn Terrier... but there was an audition for the Stage Wizard of Oz, in London, and a Mini-Shnauzer won the audition..
I never feed Rebel on a beef diet ..only one that contains Chicken.. My boys have NatureDiet.. it's semi moist and is natural with no preservatives or colouring.. it contains brown rice and vegetables.. Rambo & Rebel love it..but most of all they never ever get upset tummies..

My one friend has a little dog (looks like toto from the wizard of oz) but I can't remember the name of them for the life of me. She's been feeding him buffalo and he's 17 not as well as being in great health. It uses all meat instead of corn or by products. I'll talk to my vet, thanks so much.

It's best to mix the food 50/50 for a few days before switching completely. It's easier on the stomach and digestive system. We feed ours twice a day or every 12 hours. You don't need to feed what is recommended on the bag because it's too much. Ask your vet how much to feed because it depends on energy level.

Yes it is OK to change your puppy's food.. but why ? is she not doing well on Iams... but you MUST take 7 days if you want to change to get her tummy used to the new food, otherwise she will get an upset tummy.. I've never heard of Buffalo.. is it a complete puppy food..?
