I'm worried about my 11yrs old, 30 lb. Schnauzer panting. He won't be doing anything.

Hi there, I had this with my Schnauzer a few years ago and it turned out to be Pancreatitis, does it have a hard stomach which when gently pressed makes your dog feel pain?

The good new is, if this is what it turns out to be, is that it can be easily treated with a change in diet and the immediate discomfort can be treated by a vet with some medication.

I would seek immediate vet attention however if it is acting abnormally.

Hi Rita,
If he is panting without exercising, I would get him checked out by a vet if it goes on for more than a few days.
It could be his heart, or he may have an infection or other illness.
He could just be off-colour, but we would have him vet-checked.
