My 8 year old miniature schnauzer weeing and pooing in the house

Could someone please give me some advice as to why my 8 year old dog has started to wee and poo in the house, it's almost as if he's a puppy again, his routine has not changed, he's eating fine. Should I be concerned should I take him to the vets or is it just a phase ?
Please help

As he is both weeing and pooing, it sounds like it could be behavioural.
Have you had any change in the household -a new arrival or a change in situation -which would make him state his disapproval?
On the health side, does he seem perfectly healthy in every other way?
Go back to housetraining him again - reward him for doing his business outside -use encouragement, not punishment. If he is crate trained, use the crate for housetraining.
If it persists and you can't think of any reason, get him checked out by your vet.
