My Erick drinks tons of water

My Erick is about 9 to 10 years old. He was rescued by me. Suddenly he has been drinking tons of water. losing weight and although still eats his food he leaves some of the food in his plate. I took Erick to the Vet. the vet did lots of testing, including prostate and nothing. I do not know what else to do . he is peeing all over the place which he never did before . I m very concern since I love him too much. vets costs a lot and I would like to know what else to do for my little friend. Can anyone tell me? I love my beautiful schnauzer. great friend and companion.
