Hello there fellow Schnauzer Lovers!
Just to let you know that, as well as writing the Schnauzer Handbook, we are busy trying to improve the website.
Thanks to all of you for contributing to make this a wonderful meeting place for Schnauzer and Schnoodle owners around the world.
Many of you like to tell us about pets that have made a big impact on your life, but who are sadly no longer with us. So in the next couple of weeks we are adding a new section called RAINBOW BRIDGE.
We will be inviting you to tell us stories about your wonderful pets which have sadly passed away - and hopefully you'll attach a photo to the story.
In the meantime, keep your questions and answers coming, our latest website statistics show that this is amazingly popular with over four thousand people reading the FAQs every month!

Your pups are only 6 weeks, but if they have long hair, they need grooming.. Schnauzers are nor classed as short coated.. they are Wire Coated and their coat is of double thickness, the soft undercoat is for warmth.. the harsh wire coat is waterproof and should be hand stripped, never clipped as this will ruin their coat and it will lose it's waterproofness and become soft..and get lighter.. black schnauzers do have the chocolate colouring on their soft fur.. yes there are brown and white schnauzers.. go to Google and type in.. Breeders of Brown and White Schnauzers, and I am sure you'll find some there...

We have 5 mini chocolate schnauzers puppies, 6 weeks old and only two have the longer hair schnauzer look. Will they eventually grow out the hair or is there any such thing as a short-haired schnauzer? we also have a parti - white and brown. Anyone know how rare they really are?

Linda and Max.. Just to say a big Thank You for replying and I look forward to this site.. even though a lot of the stories will be sad.. but many very happy and wonderful memories, too.... I don't think of all my boys as passed away as I see them playing and made whole again.. I even think of my Beloved Husband that way too.. this makes life more bearable...

What a wonderful idea, and as you know I will definitely be posting photos of my two Schnauzers that have sadly gone to Rainbow Bridge, but are now having a lot of fun with all their friends & my two Yorkies.. & maybe a photo of them, too.. if that's OK with Max..even though they are not Schnauzers..
