Harriet and Ozzie
After losing our 12 year old Jack Russell, we looked on petfinder.com and came across Ozzie a Schnauzer mix.
He is an amazing dog (6 months when we adopted him) and so well behaved we found another Schnauzer mix on petfinder.com to be his forever companion.
Harriet is a little older - 16 months - and a little rough around the edges, but we are working with her and know she will be a great additional to our family. I call them the toddlers and they are a real success story for two great dogs.
Ozzie came from Dayton, OH, Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio and Harriet came from Fishers, IN, Second Time Around Mutts.
They are both Schnauzer mixes, Ozzie may be Terrier/Poodle and Harriet Portugese Water Dog/Basset? We don't know where or how they came to be, but we love them and are so happy they are part of our family.
It is so fullfilling to give them a second chance for a happy home. Ozzie is such a "dog" dog and just wants to play with Harriet and see what she is up too. Harriet is a little more on the needy side and wants to be around "humans" to feel more secure. They both trained very quickly on the invisible fence.
Harriet has some issues with crating but has responded very well to the no-bark spray collar. They love the dog park, it is the highlight of their day.
They love to go to my Mom's 90 acre farm in WV, where they can run and chase cattle and be real working dogs.
With both our children in college or moving on in the world, it is nice to come home to two wagging tales. Although they create work and require lots of money and care, we are very happy to have their love. They are 2 great dogs.
Max the Schnauzer would be proud.
(I've put another photo of them on your Schnauzer Photos page)
