schnauzer getting light brown patches on back

My silver grey schnauzer is getting strange brownish patches of colored hair on the sides of his back. It feels rough, shorter then the rest of his hair. He is 7 years old and seems healthy. this started about a month ago and now is really noticible, both sides, about the size of an apple in diameter.

I’m having this issue too and it’s driving me nuts. My schnauzer has this on his back he looks bad. It’s very large and the hair is light brown only in one area on his back. I have changed his food, bought different shampoos, vitamins. I just don’t know

They seem temporary. Ours had them a couple years ago for maybe a few months and then they went away. I wonder if it had to do with a back injury he had, someone told me sometimes dogs hair changes color when they had some trauma or injury in that area

Our 2 yrs old salt and pepper Schnauzer also started developing the brown patches. They are shorter than the rest. Have anyone heard about causes and or if this is temporary?

wierd brown spots on my Schnauzer

My 3 year old gray and white schnauzer has just started getting the same brown patches a week ago. It looked like something had been spilt on his back. I just noticed it after he got his hair cut, but the groomer said it was there, it just started showing more after the cut. I had never seen it before. It's weird,and the hair dose seem different, like thicker or rougher. I was hoping it would grow out and go away. I'm surprised to see others with this problem.

My 1 year old schnauzer also has this

COMMENT FROM LINDA AND MAX: It is probably the 'pepper' colour in the salt and pepper coat (Schnauzers are not grey, they are salt and pepper) :)

You click on that, then upload the photo, more or less the same as you would do when sending an email and attaching photos. My salt and pepper miniature schnauzer is also getting strange brownish patches of colored hair on the side. It feels rough, shorter then the rest of his hair. He is 2 years old and is healthy. this started about two weeks ago and now the small patch look as if it's spreading a little and it's really noticeable. It was about one inch in diameter.
