Schnauzer

Why does my 1 1/2 year old male Schnauzer eat stuff that he isn't suppose to eat - rocks, string, dog hair (when he is at the groomers) bird poop and rabbit droppings. No matter what we do to stop him he still does it. he is obsessed. I am afraid he is going to harm himself.

Can anyone recommend a good dog food that has all the nutrients and minerals. Right now we are feeding him Purina Dog Food.

He is still young. Hopefully this is something he will grow out of. It it slightly unusual for him to eat hair, string, rocks, etc. You really will have to keep a close eye on him and if you see him doing it, distract him with a treat. Any of these things could cause an internal blockage.
Max still eats poop and he is 12 in two days time, but so far hasn't come to any harm.
The only other possible reason is that he has a mineral or nutrient deficiency - make sure you are feeding him a good quality food, many cheap ones are bulked up with rubbish.
