Which dog with my schnauzer?

What breed of dog should I adopt that would best get along with my-six-year-old schnauzer? He is a loving dog but very territorial.

Hi Amy, you don't say what type of schnauzer you have, which might make a difference.
But the breed may be less important than the nature and gender of a second dog.
Has your schnauzer been neutered? Either way, a female would almost certainly be better than a male, expecially if he is territorial.
